New Ride! / Nueva Montura!

Here is my new ride: A Trek Slash 2014. It is an all mountain/enduro 27.5 (650b) mountain bike with 160 mm of both rear and front suspension travel. It has an Alpha aluminum frame with lots of carbon fiber parts and components. The suspension is a Fox Talas 160 mm factory series fork in front and a Trek's special Fox CTD shock in the rear. SRAMs XO1 11 gears drivetrain (carbon derailleur) with a single 32 teeth plate in front. SRAM X1 crank, Avid XO trail brakes and Rock Shox Reverb telescopic post. It weights (without pedals) just 13.1 kg (it is a 17.5 -medium- size bike) what it is ok for a gravity-oriented sled.

So far I have just had a chance to take it for a quik spin in the mountain, so I cannot realy say anything other than WOW! compared with my previous bike (a Specialized Pitch, that was not bad but a lot heavier and with less suspension travel). It is by far, the best and most amazing bike I have ever had. A real dream-of-a-machine. Moreover, I got it from an unbelivable price, lower than it is normally sold in Europe or the states. :)

I'll be fully testing it soon hopefully during the El Conejo National Downhill competition at Cofre de Perote Volcano in Veracruz, Mexico during 26-27 July 2014 (will be posting that afterwards if I manage to get alive out of it!). I also plan to take down with me to my work at the Mariposa Monarca Biosphere Reserve in Michoacan where there are plenty of mountains to ride it both uphill and downhill.
