Recently, my institution acquired Lotus Notes as the institutional e-mail client and asked some of us to test it. After a month of "testing it" (I use brackets here because I should say "frustrating myself trying to test this horrible thing", instead) I was shocked not only by how useless, ugly and inefficient this platform is but also by the fact that it has been in the marked for so long and yet some corporations keep buying it! Amazing, really!. A little bit scared about it, I embraced myself in some sort of survey among my colleagues to figure out what they think about this thing and bingo! Lots of them were at least as frustrated as I was. So, I got rid of the thing and end of the story. Migrated to Gmail for my email and that's it.
For those of you that might be interested, here are some links of very, very frustrated people (some 19 million of them according to some sources) writing about this useless thing called Lotus Sucks (I mean Lotus Notes). Recientemente, mi institución adquirió algo llamado Lotus Notes como cliente de correo electrónico. Después de probarlo por aproximadamente un mes no solo quedé anonadado de cuan feo e ineficiente es este programa sino también de como algo tan, pero tan terriblemente mal hecho ha podido sobrevivir a la competitiva história del mercado de los programas de computo. Un poco espantado por ello, encabecé una especie de encuesta con mi colegas y resulto que una buena proporción de ellos pensaban exactamente igual que yo y estaban terriblemente frustrados con Notes. Así que me deshice del horrible engendro, migré a Gmail para mi correo y fin de la historia.
Bueno, como decimos en México: "mal de muchos es consuelo de tontos", pero resulta que según algunas fuentes, existen algo así como 19 millones de usuarios totalmente frustrados con este verdadero anacronismo de programa llamado Lotus Sucks, perdón Lotus Notes...Bueno, en realidad no exagero! Créanme! Hay gente tan frustrada con este engendro de la informática, que hasta tiene su propia página web http://lotusnotessucks.4t.com/. Vaya usted a saber!...
